Welcome to the University of York! Whether you are arriving from across the pond or just a few towns over, York is one of the best-connected cities in the UK.
Here's everything you need to know to navigate your way to campus. The conference will take place in Heslington Hall on Campus West.
If travelling from overseas, you are advised to check the latest entry requirements for the UK, including for an ETA, which came into force in 2025.
York is a major railway terminus and is well-served by local transport. By plane, the city can be reached from London airports as well as regional ones, including Manchester, Leeds-Bradford, Doncaster-Sheffield and Newcastle.
Several train companies operate through York, and LNER and Grand Central Rail travel direct from London Kings Cross. Check National Rail or Trainline to find the best routes and fares, and see the university website for more information. It is strongly advised to purchase advance fares for long-distance routes, not to buy your ticket from London to York upon arrival at the station. Please note that busier services require a seat reservation.
Further details of city transport can be found here. For taxis we recommend using official ranks or calling Streamline on +44 01904 656565.
