BAKED IN(GEBAKKEN)!
Dutch Language and Cultures through a Culinary Lens
A summer course is a great opportunity to give your language learning a boost and put the language skills you have acquired into practice with learners from all over the world.
This year's ALCS Dutch Summer School takes place at the University of Sheffield
from 29 June until 5 July 2025!
In this fourth edition, we will explore Dutch language and Low Countries Cultures through a culinary lens. We will discuss our culinary traditions -- from local cultures to colonial heritages -- and look at how they are shaped by factors like climate, geography, religion and economy, and how they help construct and develop a cultural identity.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced learner, join us for a week of language classes, cultural excursions and Low Countries related workshops!
Places are limited and on a first come first served basis.
Applications close on 25 March 2025!
Priority will be given to applicants who are currently enrolled or plan on enrolling in a Dutch language programme at a UK institution.
