Getting to Sheffield

Travelling by train

If you are travelling from The Netherlands, Belgium or France, the easiest way to get to Sheffield is by train. You take the Eurostar from Brussels / Amsterdam / Paris to London and hop straight on a train to Sheffield.

Direct trains to Sheffield leave from Saint Pancras International. It taks around 2 hours to get to Sheffield. As UK Railroad Companies operate privately, we recommend booking your train from London to Sheffield and back well in advance. You can do this via the East Midlands Railway website.

Tickets are paperless and should arrive in your inbox to be downloaded before travel. If you have ordered paper tickets, you must collected them from the ticket collection machines prior to travel. You will need your reference number along with any card (this is only for authorisation purposes) to obtain your tickets. 

Travelling by plane

Sheffield is at the heart of the UK and the rail and road networks. It is around 1 hours’ drive from 3 international airports. Manchester Airport is the closest, with the most worldwide connections. 

Sheffield can be easily reached from UK Airports by either road, using a taxi service, or rail.  There are hourly fast trains from Manchester City Centre which connect to/from Manchester International airport.
